Franklin County, VT...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
10 AM EST MONDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BURLINGTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW ACROSS THE VERMONT SIDE OF THE CHAMPLAIN
VALLEY EASTWARD INTO THE NORTHERN GREEN MOUNTAINS...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON UNTIL 10 AM EST MONDAY.

* SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE EXPECTED BY MID
MORNING MONDAY ACROSS CHITTENDEN...FRANKLIN...AND WESTERN
LAMOILLE COUNTIES IN NORTHWESTERN VERMONT. SNOW AMOUNTS ARE
EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 3 TO 4 INCHES AROUND BURLINGTON TO 4 TO 6
INCHES FOR THE WEST SLOPE COMMUNITIES ALONG THE NORTHERN GREEN
MOUNTAINS. LOCALLY HIGHER TOTALS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE NORTHERN
GREEN MOUNTAINS FROM JAY PEAK TO MOUNT MANSFIELD.

* AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVING SOUTHWESTWARD FROM QUEBEC
COMBINED WITH NORTHWESTERLY WINDS WILL BRING A LOCALIZED
OROGRAPHIC SNOWFALL TO THE VERMONT SIDE OF THE CHAMPLAIN VALLEY
EASTWARD INTO THE GREEN MOUNTAIN SUMMITS. THE SNOW WILL BE OF A
DRY FLUFFY CONSISTENCY...HOWEVER...PERIODS OF LOW VISIBILITY AND
SNOW COVERED ROADWAYS ARE EXPECTED OVERNIGHT AND INTO MONDAY
MORNING.

* SNOW WILL DEVELOP BY EARLY THIS EVENING AND BECOME MORE
WIDESPREAD AND STEADY ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA TOWARD MIDNIGHT.
PERIODS OF SNOW AND SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE MONDAY
MORNING COMMUTE BEFORE TAPERING OFF BY MID-MORNING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL
CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND
LIMITED VISIBILITIES. USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING AND ALLOW EXTRA
TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION TONIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING.

PLEASE STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO...YOUR LOCAL MEDIA...OR
GO TO WWW.WEATHER.GOV/BURLINGTON FOR FURTHER UPDATES ON THIS
WEATHER SITUATION.
