We hear coyotes here in Wyoming every day, and see them quite frequently.  You want to hear a sound that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up, then listen to a grizzly bear roar...  It's like hearing a lion!  Coyotes are harmless to humans, so even if it's an eerie sound, it's nothing to be afraid of.

Why should we shoot/kill coyotes if they serve no purpose?  They are part of the food chain.  They eat those rodents burrowing in Henry's yard.  Who decides what serves no purpose, and if we can shoot whatever it is or not?  Do robins serve a purpose?  Woodpeckers?  Should we just shoot things because they "serve no purpose?"

I've seen many domestic dogs walking around with cow bones, or other dead animal parts in their mouths.  It's food/meat to them, and nothing else.  I've watched domestic dogs chase (and eat) mice, and Uinta Ground Squirrels.  I've also seen them chase deer.
