MILTON, Vt. -- Multiple fire departments responded to the scene of a structure fire in Milton, where flames destroyed a family home.

The fire, which showed smoke billowing from the structure from a distance away, occurred at the corner of Sanderson and Streeter Brook roads.

Several fire crews were at the scene for more than an hour battling the blaze. An emergency services crew was also called to the scene, but fire officials said no one was hurt in the blaze.

Homeowners told WPTZ.com the fire broke out at around 10 a.m. and that several animals were rescued from the home by a neighbor, but that some animals may have been left inside. In all, three of the family's five dogs were accounted for. The homeowners said no people were inside at the time of the blaze.

There is lots of raw video, including some of what appears to be the owners or residents arriving on the scene and discovering the fire department and their home on fire.  Just click on the link in my previous post.

The home is owned by Tim and Deborah Pelkey, and the American Red Cross was helping them find a place to stay after the fire, Turner said.
