Cheryl Ann LampmanHighgate Center, Vermont - Cheryl Ann Lampman, age 62 years, a lifelong resident of this area died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, March 23, 2010, in her Lamkin Street residence.
Born in Saint Albans, Vermont on, April 7, 1947 she was the daughter of the late John F. and Elaine (Quebec) Sullivan. She attended Holy Angel’s grade school, graduated from Saint Mary’s High School and later received her associate’s degree from Trinity College. On September 20 1987 she was married to Herbert “Herbie” Lampman who survives her. Cheryl had been employed for a time as a child care provider for Kidz Kneedz in Highgate Center.
She was a lover of horses and belonged to both the Morgan Horse Association and the Northwest Riding and Driving Club. As a member of the Abenaki Nation of Vermont she served as a member of the Parent Advisory Committee for Title VII Indian Education. Cheryl was a longtime parishioner of Saint Louis Roman Catholic Church and in earlier years taught in the religious education program.
In addition to her husband Herbert of Highgate Center, Cheryl leaves a daughter, Nicole Lampman of Highgate; three sons, Chris, Sean and Jamie; two brothers, and their wives, John and Judy Sullivan of Fairfax, Donald and Sally Sullivan of Swanton and one sister, Linda Gewehr of Tucson, Arizona; two grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth LaPan of Swanton and Virginia Young of Saint Albans; very special friends, Jim and Katie Dean and their son Frank of Swanton as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton (802-868-3331). Abenaki Chief April St. Francis-Merrill and Indian Education Director Jeff Benay will lead the services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral. Interment will follow at Saint Louis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers gifts in Cheryl’s memory may be made to a fund to assist the family with expenses, in care of, Chief April St. Francis-Merrill, Abenaki Tribal Headquarters, P.O. Box 276, Swanton 05488.
