Dear Mr. Raymond,
I teach Family & Consumer Sciences (formerly called Home Economics)here at B.F.A.-Fairfax. I have been teaching here for 11 years. Mike Cain knows that I bring a high school team to the Jr. Iron Chef competition. He said that you would like to post pictures of the team and the event. I got their ok to post their photographs, so please find below quite a few pictures of them at the event.

The students were Storm Pouliot, Zaide Ladensack (blond hair) and Ellen Fitzgerald. Their food entry was called "Foothills Macaroni & Cheese" with carrots, onions, extra sharp cheddar cheese. We used whole wheat flour to make the roux.  They had a great time although they did not win. There are only 3 winners.

Here are the final results;
Best in Show-Rochester High School,
Most Creative Dish-A Cut Above the Rest from B.F.A.-St. Albans
Greatest Number and Best Use of Local Ingredients-Harwood Union High School.

Thank you for your support.

Sue O'Brien
P.S. Of course I teach Culinary in the high school along with Child Development, Human Relations, On Your Own (budgeting/credit management), Foods & Nutrition, Textile Design, Foods & Nutrition and Housing.
