Burn Barrels and pollution, that cracks me up.

About 4 years ago I worked in between Palmer and Wasilla Alaska. No mans land,,,
I was the PE on a four story medical office building that was to be attached to a new hospital that was still under construction.

http://www.unitcompany.com/projects/2007akmedofficebldg.htm

The GC building the new hospital had already commissioned the the HVAC system AND yet they were open burning their trash and what not right next to the damn commissioned systems. Imagine what they were sucking into the HVAC.

I told our crews if they did that they would be off the JOB asap.
Who the hell does that?????
Nutz.

I working in HVAC for 10 years (tim knocker) and am always looking for stuff like that.  Several years ago my father was in the hospital in Burlington, I went outside for a smoke. The smoking area was directly under the fresh air intake for the hospital.
