MILTON / RICHFORD VT & NORTH PORT FL - Jacqueline (Lavoie) Perry age 72 passed away April 30, 2010 at home in Milton VT. Jacqueline was born November 11, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY the oldest child of the late Wilfred "Ben" and Aline (Lariviere) Lavoie. She lived in Richford from 1939, graduating as a proud member of Richford High School, Class of 1955. She then moved to Hartford, CT working at the Travelers Insurance Co. for a year and a half. She moved back to Vermont in 1957 and married George L. Perry from St. Albans, VT, who survives her. Jackie then worked for General Electric in Burlington VT until September of 1962, when she and George decided that she would be a "stay at home Mom". Once the children were in school, she worked for the Milton school system for three years. She also shared her time volunteering between schools, town functions, and church events as a member of St. Ann Parish in Milton. She spent many enjoyable years attending the many sporting events that her children and grandchildren participated in. (hockey, soccer, baseball, softball, track and field, cross country, figure skating and dance recitals etc.) As Jackie often said, "the nicest, most caring, and most family orientated people she ever met were the parents of the athletes, whether they were the home team or away." She also enjoyed playing cards, reading, knitting, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, the computer, spending winters in Florida, going to yard sales, talking on the phone, and driving around beautiful Vermont. Jackie is survived by her husband of 53 years George, her four sons, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Son Glenn Perry and his wife Karen of Venice Florida and their five children, Benjamin and wife Amanda, Emily Belle and husband Nicholas Rinchich and son Cole, Sally, Rachel and Maggie. Son Bryan Perry of Swanton and his daughter Amanda of Fairfax. Son Duane Perry and his wife Valerie and their two children Tyler and Andrea of Aurora, Colorado. Son Bradley Perry and his wife Allison of St. Albans and his daughter Megan. Their Son in law James Baker of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Two sisters, Theresa Gross and her husband Ronald of Fairfax and Annette Blouin and her husband Noel of Enosburg. Her in laws, Albert and Ruth (Perry) Garner of Essex Center as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Ann Baker on January 3, 2008, her father in 1977, her mother in 1992, her brother Michael in 1965, her sister Claudette (Lavoie) Tringle in 1988 and her sister in law Barbara (Perry) Sweeney in 2006. As per Jackie's request there will be no visiting hours, however a Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at St. Ann Catholic Church on 41 Main Street in Milton with Fr. Ronald Camet officiating. A celebration of life luncheon will be held downstairs at St. Ann Church immediately following the Mass. Burial will follow in the Perry family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery on Fairfax Street, St Albans. In lieu of flowers, it is asked that one consider donations in Jackie's memory be made to either St. Ann Church, P.O. Box 1, Milton VT 05468 or the Visiting Nurse Association 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT 05446 to either the Hospice or Home care program.
