ST. ALBANS — The Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC) has filed a notice of appeal with the Vermont Supreme Court informing the court it intends to appeal a ruling by Environmental Court Judge Thomas Durkin granting developer Jeff Davis an Act 250 permit to build a Walmart on Route 7 in St. Albans.

VNRC filed the notice Tuesday. They had until today to file.

“Basically, all we have to do at this point is say, ‘We appeal,’” Stephen Holmes, of the Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC) told the Messenger this morning.

Are you kidding me!! I really don't see why this is such a big deal!! Franklin country really needs this think of the business it would bring in.

I can't believe this is allowed to keep going on....but yet JLD Properties has already given St. Albans city $100,000 with $700,000 more to come but if they'd started building this year, $50,000 more!! So let it keep being appealed & not only will they keep losing $$$, but revenue for our area, along with jobs to be filled not only within the store employees but the actual construstion.  Maybe those appealing ought to start paying the city back for its continuing loss of revenue!!
