100th Annual Alumni Banquet

June 18, 2010 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Please join us as we celebrate the class of 2010 and 100 years of the BFA Fairfax Alumni Association. Social Hour begins at 5:30, and Dinner at 6:30. Tickets are $20.00 and are available by contacting Patti Smith at 849-6115.

When I graduated in 1958 it cost $2.00 to attend banquet...my how times have changed.  Sounds rather pricey to me???

25 years ago, I think it was about half that or less. It does seem high, but considering I haven't been in 25 years, I can't pass judgment. I would have liked to attended the 100th, but was unable to!

I don't know if it has improved or if it was just my teenage bias at the time, but I don't recall being impressed with the meal served and if it is the same or similar--not worth $20. But, of course mine is just one opinion.

Part of the reason for the higher price is that the Alumni Association was right on the red/black line after last year.  While I don't go to the banquet very often, I do like knowing the association continues to be a vital part of BFA-Fairfax.  And no, the meal was stellar, but it was fine.  I didn't mind paying the extra knowing it was helping the association.  And on a different note - I wish the best of luck to the new president, Gabriel Grant.  Thank you, Gabe, for taking this on!!
