BRIAN McDONALD' BAD START TO THE WEEKEND

Sprint cars have no starters, clutches, or tranmissions. It has a transfer case. You are either in gear or out of gear. How fast you go depends on how far down you push the gas pedal. The cars need to be push started. You take the car out of gear for the four wheeler to push you over to the track. Once in place, you put the car in gear, and a push truck comes along and pushes the car, which turns the tires, which is turning the motor, which then fires up, and you are on your way.
Once in a great while, something goes wrong. The trucks push bumper is too high or something, and the push truck will climb up the back of the race car, and really make a mess of things.

Friday night, it was time for "heat in the engines". Everyone goes over to the track, fires off, and then comes back to the pits and lets the engines come up to temperature before they go out for hot laps.
Anthony went out, fired off, came back in, and hollered over for Lonnie.
"THE PUSHTRUCK RAN OVER MCDONALD! HE'S GOING TO NEED SOME HELP!"
We went flying over to his hauler and the crew were just standing there. Anthony told them what happened, and that he was going to need maybe a new rear end and tire and top wing.
Then the wrecker arrived.

Jeremey and Lonnie helping out. At this point, I put the camera away and helped get the wing off the top.

New wing going on.

Finished product. I don't think he needed an new rear end, just some suspension parts.
His weekend finished on a high note with a third place finish at Utica-Rome.
