Henry       Thanks for posting Alden's obituary. I taught at EJHS from 1966 until 1971 and greatly enjoyed Alden and his sidekick, Howie O'Neill . Both are gone now, but they were not only possessors of great humor, but also terrific teachers as well.
In my first year of teaching at the old high school in Essex ( '66-67 ) , I began the day monitoring a large study hall of upperclassmen in the cafeteria. Alden and Howie began their day monitoring DE students on the road for an hour or so, and midway through that first period, both would come into the kitchen for a cup of coffee ( to calm their nerves ? ) . I was privy to some wonderful stories from them and really learned to appreciate these educators and friends
if there is a heaven, it is for sure that these two are together again, swapping tales and sharing thoughts. Best to Alden's family.
