I don't know this for a fact and haven't had a chance to go to the town office to check it out and see if the paperwork has gone through or not, but I understand through the rumor mill that Morse Lumber has a new owner and employees are working overtime and things are really booming for them up there - Lisa, that is right in your front yard, maybe you want to take a walk across the street with press card and camera in hand.

I heard from a very reliable source last night that it has been sold. New owners make cabinets. I forgot what the company name is. They are a local company. Assemble the cabinets (in Essex?) then transport to Fx for finishing touches. Heard they want to start the kiln up again.

I remember getting kindling there too!  That kiln dried wood was great for getting fires started!

Ahhhh Yes!!  I remember splitting kindling wood at home on Fairfield Ridge.  Every year dad would save the old Cedar Fence Posts that he replaced and we would saw them up in 1 foot lengths then take an ax and chop them up into kindling.  I still have a scar on my left pointer finger near the knuckle where I missed once when I was a kid and here I am in my late 70s and it still hasn't disappeared.
