Had some old movies transferred to VHS and then I transferred them to DVD.  I never was home on their first day of school as I was at work, but for each of the three girls Maryann took 8mm Movies of them getting on the bus and also of them when they came home.  So many great memories.

For those of you who had your child start school in The First Grade today, I bet there was a tear or two shed.  Today however there is kind of a weaning away as you have pre-school and kindergarten before first grade.

Each child will have a best friend and of course there will be in every child's class that kid they absolutely despise - for whatever reason.

I have taken first day of school pix every year since my son started Kindergarten. I took my daughters pic this morning as she went off to her first day of high school. I have since wasted the rest of my morning trying to locate the other ones. Unfortunately, all those years of "one day I'm going to organize these photo albums" has yet to happen--so my photos are not grouped in any rational order!

I didn't think that transitioning into a HS that is already familiar after 8+ years in the same school would be too difficult, but it's almost as stressful for her as if she were going to an unfamiliar place. I suppose it's an entirely different unknown school experience that is the cause of  butterflies and three days of prep-work! ;-)
