This is the first day of "Meteorological Fall" (the full months of September, October and November).  And yet it will feel like the middle of summer with another hot & humid day.  The record high temperature for Sept. 1 in Burlington is 89 degrees, and we have a good shot at breaking that record today.

I have never heard of "Meteorological Fall," any idea how this is different from "Regular Fall?" :-)

I found this bit of info from USATODAY.com:
