JAMES HERMAN TERRELL

LOUISIANA/FAIRFAX --James Herman Terrell, age 72, passed away Friday, July 7, 2006, in Louisiana   after a long illness. James was born June  8, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Charles and Irene (Davignon) Terrell.

He served his country well as a member of the United States Navy on the USS Intrepid during the Korean War. In September 1983 he married Sara Wells. He was employed as a cross-country tractor trailer driver. He and his former wife Sara had resided in Fairfax, Vt. and James had been a dedicated and valued member of Fairfax Rescue for a number of years. He also served on the Fanwood New Jersey Fire and Rescue Squad for 17 years.

He is survived by his former wife, Sara; his two daughters. Cora Gardner and her husband. John of Bossier City, La., Kathy Roach and her husband, Gene of Doyline, La.; one brother, Frank Terrell and his wife, Nina of Haughton, La.; one sister, Marguerite Terrell of Hawaii; three grandchildren, Amy, Kimberly and Chad; two greatgrandchildren, Kambry and Hunter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2006, in St. Luke's Catholic Church, Fairfax, Vt. at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in James's memory to Fairfax Rescue, P.O. Box 428, Fairfax, Vt. 05454.

Arrangements are by John D. Workman, A. W. Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax Chapel, 1176 Main St., Fairfax, Vt. 05454.
