TOWN OF FAIRFAX
SELECTBOARD MEETING MINUTES
Monday August 2, 2010
(This was an informal meeting as there weren’t enough members present for a quorum. This is a synopsis of what did take place.)
Selectboard Members Present: Bob Horr and Randy DeVine.
Public Present: Peg Stewart, Cliff Collins and Al Senecal, LNP.
Call to Order: Bob called the informal meeting to order at 7PM.
Agenda Items:
7:00 PM – Don Pigeon, Road Foreman
Don came in and gave an update on the 2004 International dump truck that had been at J&B International. He had the part in hand that they feel was causing the problem. He will run the truck for a couple of days to see if it will perform under stress. Don will sit down with J&B International to go over the bills and come up with a final figure before presenting the bill to the SB. Ted Beebe sent an email regarding high water on Meade Road created by a culvert being blocked by beavers in a nearby pond. This has been an ongoing problem for several years. Don has cleared the culvert multiple times. A letter will be sent to the landowner of the pond and will await a response as to what they would like the Town to do. In other news, Don says the roads are in good condition and they are presently drawing sand.
7:15 PM – Skip Taylor, Zoning Administrator
Skip came in with his activity report for the time period of July 12 – August 2, 2010. The report was reviewed. Bob asked Skip about #8 on his activity report regarding flooding on Alan Boutin’s property. Skip has met twice with Alan Boutin regarding flooding of his property located on Maple Street. He has also talked with Gabe Handy as there has been a change in elevation around his project which may be causing water to be channeled toward the Boutin property. Other projects in town were discussed. Skip was asked to stay for the 7:45 PM meeting.
7:30 PM – Deb Woodward, Town Clerk & Treasurer
Deb was scheduled to discuss the tax rate. Due to an insufficient amount of Board members present, a special meeting will be called on Wednesday August 4 at 7:30 AM to discuss/approve the tax rate.
7:45 PM – Cliff Collins, Ruggiano Engineering – Paige Estates
Cliff Collins from Ruggiano Engineering and Al Senecal of LNP, Inc. presented to discuss Paige Estates. Cliff presented three options for a sewer connection. He will send a set of prints of each scenario with a brief description for further review by all Board members.
The meeting ended at 8:45 PM
Respectfully submitted by Stacy Wells, Adm. Asst.
