The minutes presented below are unapproved
, subject to corrections and/or additions at the next
Selectboard meeting. Those corrections and/or additions will be written
to the original minutes. If you, the viewer, wish to personally
see those changes, you will need to go to the Fairfax Town Office to view
those changes as written on the original paper copy.
Any time the Selectboard "amends" the previous weeks' minutes, there will be a
statement to that effect in the minutes of the meeting at which the "amending"
occurred.
Selectboard Members present: Judy Cleary, Jeff Blake, and Randy DeVine. Staff Members present: Erin McSweeney, Administrative Assistant to the Selectboard, and Don Pigeon, Road Foreman. Public Present: Peg Stewart and Carol Lizotte
1.Call to Order
Judy Cleary, Vice Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 7:00PM.
2. Minutes
A. Minutes from the meeting on August 13th could not be approved due to lack of a quorum present.
B. Jeff motioned to accept the minutes from the meeting on August 20th. Randy seconded. All board members voted in favor.
3. Items on the Agenda
A. Don Pigeon -Christine Sawyer from Vermont Emergency Management made a site visit to the River Road bridge; Don has met with the State Police regarding the theft of tires from the Town Garage; the Highway Department is still hauling sand.
B. Randy DeVine-Completed installing the airlines in the lagoons; has resumed normal sewage treatment. He inspected the installation of one water meter at the Fairfax Green Senior Housing building.
C. Carol Lizotte - Distributed an agenda for tonight's meeting, and a spreadsheet of detailed information regarding the budget for the Parks and Recreation Department. Carol also submitted a letter of resignation from her position of Parks and Recreation Director. The position will be posted. Anyone who wishes to be considered for the position should submit a resume and letter of interest to the Selectboard before September 28th.
Jeff motioned to accept Carol Lizotte's resignation. Randy seconded. All board members voted in favor.
4. Public Input
Peg Stewart informed the board that the School Board would like to meet with the Selectboard to discuss the Engineer's Report regarding the Town Office building. The joint meeting of the School Board and the Selectboard will take place on Monday, October 1st, at 7:00PM in the library.
5. Other Business
A. Erin informed the board there will be a DRB hearing regarding Mark LaBrie's proposed automobile service business on Wednesday, September 5th, at 7:45PM; the Town is an interested party because it is an adjoining landowner.
B. The board reviewed a request from the Valleyview Homeowners' Association to form a fire district in order to obtain grant funds for its orphan stormwater system. Members of the Valleyview Homeowners' Association are on the agenda for the Selectboard meeting on September 17th.
6. Adjournment
Randy motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:46PM. Jeff seconded. All board members voted in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 8:46PM.
