The minutes presented below are unapproved
, subject to corrections and/or additions at the next
Selectboard meeting. Those corrections and/or additions will be written
to the original minutes. If you, the viewer, wish to personally
see those changes, you will need to go to the Fairfax Town Office to view
those changes as written on the original paper copy.
Any time the Selectboard "amends" the previous weeks' minutes, there will be a
statement to that effect in the minutes of the meeting at which the "amending"
occurred.
Selectboard members Jeff Blake, Judy Cleary, Doug Webb, Bill Ormerod and Charlie Swanson were present at the meeting. Also present were Erin McSweeney, Randy DeVine, Don Pigeon, and Skip Taylor. These minutes are unofficial until approved by the Board at the next regularly scheduled Selectboard meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00PM. Don informed the board he will be cutting trees on Tabor Hill Road. Bill informed Don that Carol Lizotte's signs for the Recreation Park have arrived. Bill asked Don if he could put those up; Bill is available to help Don if needed.
Randy informed the board he has taken a sample of the water from the line on the corner of Berthiaume Road and Buck Hollow Road. Randy also informed the board that he has replaced markers in several areas; the markers are guides for snow plows and graders.
Judy motioned to accept the minutes from last week's meeting. Charlie seconded. All board members voted in favor.
The board reviewed a document from Vermont Accessible Environments. The Town of Sheldon is submitting a grant proposal to the Vermont Community Development Program to conduct a Franklin County Access Survey and would like Fairfax to submit a resolution of support. Bill motioned to issue a resolution of support to the Town of Sheldon in pursuing a grant from the Vermont Community Development Program. Charlie seconded. All board members voted in favor.
Skip Taylor, Zoning Administrator, distributed and reviewed an Activity Report for November 7-December 18, 2006. Skip and the board also reviewed a memo from Skip regarding proposed conditions of approval for new projects in Fairfax. The board also reviewed a letter from Skip to Trevor & Lorraine Campbell requiring them to remove their old house off their property by March 13, 2007.
OTHER BUSINESS: The Selectboard will review a line of credit issued by Union Bank for $900,000 at 4.0%. This document will be signed on Tuesday, December 19th. The board reviewed medical insurance information from Vermont League of Cities and Towns(VLCT). CIGNA will be VLCT's new medical insurance provider beginning January 1st. By consensus, the board authorized Steve Bessette, Emergency Management Coordinator, to make 35 copies of the new Rapid Response Report.
PUBLIC INPUT: There was no public input this evening.
Judy motioned to enter Executive Session at 8:15 to discuss a personnel issue, a legal issue, and to review the employee policy and employee salaries.
The Selectboard meeting was adjourned at 10:00PM.
