Does anyone know why the covered bridge was blocked off today?

The covered bridge is undergoing repairs and will be closed until further notice.

Are these planned repairs?  Did something happen to it?

They are planned repairs, some of the damage is from the "detour", some from age.
I wasn't sure when they were arriving to commence work.

I did stop down to meet the guys and heard some funny stories.
They have been here before (I believe this is their fourth visit).

I mentioned that it's disappointing to see graffiti on a covered bridge.

It seems on their first visit (years back) there was a lot of graffiti about one Dick Brown.
Now, I can hear Dick down in sunny Florida going "uh-oh", but don't worry, my friend, I wouldn't hang you out to dry.
While the words may not have been in favor of the popular principal, the guys told me
"You could tell that it was all made by the same person from the handwriting."

you've gotta crack a few eggs to make an omelette

Thanks for helping make this town what it is, Mr. Brown.

Isn't this the worst time of year to plan repairs on one of the routes to the school? Not only is it cold, but now traffic will be more congested on the other roads. As someone who drives his kids to school, I definitely noticed a delay.
